wow, that's intense. But media is full of douchebags, axl rose, varg vikernes, euronymous, nintendo, etc. I generally don't look up much about the people i enjoy stuff. I never knew about DOAWK either it's not popular here in my country. I like stuff then i look up about their creations they may be assholes, like Obskure Torture a band/project by a danish neonazi, i didn't know he was a neonazi and still obskure torture was a huge influence for me when playing guitar. Jacula the keyboardist was a (occultist) 68 dude married to a 18 old girl. an Old Funeral song lyrics was making fun of starving victims in etiopia, etc, etc, etc
